A switch in quarterbacks did not help the Giants get a win in Oakland.

For the first time since 2004, Eli Manning was not their starter. He was benched in favor of ex-Jet Geno Smith.

Smith threw for 212 yards and a touchdown. He did not throw an interception, but he was sacked three times and fumbled twice when the Giants were in good scoring position.

The Raiders won the game 24-17.

Now, the question becomes whether coach Ben McAdoo will be fired after reports surfaced before the game that it could happen even if the Giants had won.

Giants fans who spoke with NY1 Sunday were not happy with the team or McAdoo's decision to bench Manning.

Many say they want McAdoo fired.

"Eli's, he's been our hero for a lot of years. He's had his ups and downs, but McAdoo is just not the guy," said one Giants fan.

"There's no backup quarterback that can replace Eli, period, man," said another. "McAdoo's out of there. I don't see him coming back."

The Giants are now 2-10 this season. They host the Cowboys next week.
