NY1 reporter Grace Rauh can often be seen steps behind the mayor. It’s her job! As our lead City Hall reporter, Grace brings the inner-workings of Mayor de Blasio’s administration to life for NY1 viewers. Rauh's fluency in New York politics allows her to shine when there is breaking news and gives her the nuance and expertise to tackle complex policy debates.

Rauh was the driving force in a successful lawsuit against the mayor, forcing City Hall to turn over thousands of emails it went to court to keep hidden. Her reporting on the mayor’s relationship with outside consultants fueled changes in the way New York State defines lobbying and led to reforms within City Hall. In 2017, Rauh won the Society of Professional Journalists’ national Sunshine Award, an award that honors contributions in the area of open government.  Rauh also received the New York Associated Press Association's prestigious First Amendment Award in Broadcast for her work in the same area.

Flip on NY1 and you’ll see Grace doing reports from outside City Hall or on the set of Inside City Hall. You can get even more Grace during your commute. She’s the host of “Off Topic/On Politics,” a NY1 political podcast. When not on air or in the podcast studio, you can find Grace enjoying her Brooklyn neighborhood of Park Slope with her husband and two daughters.
