The city is offering free design help for New Yorkers looking to rebuild properties damaged by Hurricane Sandy.
The New York City Department of Buildings hopes to accelerate the approval process for homeowners planning to start construction in flood hazard zones.
They also hope to improve the overall flood resistance of the new construction.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg already lifted restrictions so buildings can meet new elevation standards set forth by FEMA.
The free consultations will be offered weekdays, starting on Monday, March 4.
