New Yorkers recovering from Sandy now have more time to apply for federal aid.
The deadline to register for FEMA assistance was Wednesday, but it is now being extended to March 29 for residents living in 13 disaster-declared counties, including all five boroughs.
Federal aid for individuals and families can include money for rental assistance and home repairs, as well as other needs not covered by insurance.
