A Queens family is in mourning after a 65-year-old man was killed in what police are calling a hit and run.

Police say Carlos Carlo was crossing the intersection of Rockaway Boulevard and 137th Avenue Friday morning.

They say a dark-colored sedan traveling northbound on Rockaway Boulevard hit Carlo and kept on going.

Carlo was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

His family is calling for the driver to turn himself in.

"My father wasn't just an animal. He was a human being," said Melissa Martin, the victim's daughter. "He deserves better than what you gave him. You left him for nothing. He was a father. He was a grandfather. You're also responsible to them for what you've done."

Martin said that Carlo often took walks as a way to exercise and relax.
