There was a little bit of Washington in Queens Monday as Astoria residents came together to watch President Barack Obama's inauguration.

A viewing party was held at the Raven's Head Public House.

Some said having the inauguration fall on Martin Luther King Day made it extra special.

"It's historic in nature to begin with, and now, to have it on Martin Luther King Day, the culmination of his dream, and seeing how this country has moved forward since then, it's really very exciting," said Democratic District Leader Costa Constantinides. "This was an opportunity to kind of pull our community together to celebrate it as one."

The district leader hosted the party along with the Powhatan Democratic Club.
