FEMA Officials To Offer Storm Recovery Advice In Local Houseware Stores

By: NY1 News

As those who lost their homes in Hurricane Sandy began the massive task of rebuilding, the Federal Emergency Management Agency is setting up several locations where New Yorkers can get information this week on how to improve their homes to better weather future storms.

Beginning Tuesday, FEMA teams at four locations will be offering advice on everything from safe clean-ups to repairing and rebuilding techniques to flood insurance.

They will be on site at Home Depot stores at 600 Exterior Street in the Bronx and 579 Gateway Drive in Brooklyn, as well as the Home Depot at 90 Price Parkway in Farmingdale, N.Y. and the Lowe's store at 1550 Old Country Road in Riverhead, N.Y.

The officials will take questions from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Tuesday through Saturday and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
