Cleanup crews are already hard at work after Tuesday's storms did a lot of damage in the city.

In Whitestone, Queens, NY1 found two trees that came down on homes on Sixth Avenue a couple of blocks apart.

The homes were not destroyed and there was not much damage.

No injuries were reported.

NY1 talked to one of the homeowners, who said she felt lucky it wasn't worse.

"I had suspected something like this might have happened," she said. "Tree was old. I've been here 37 years, and I worry about my neighbor's tree also, and now the day has come."

A lot of branches were also knocked down.

The storm also hit Staten Island hard.

Residents didn't see much wind, just lightning, as a tree came down in Stapleton.

"It wasn't really windy at all," said one resident. "It was just a lightning that came. It didn't even, you just saw the lightning, looked and seen the lightning, and the tree just, we heard cracking and the tree just came down."

NY1 talked with a woman whose car was hit by a tree. She said she's been calling the city since Hurricane Irene to have the tree removed because it would sway during storms.
