Authorities have increased a reward to $45,000 for information leading to the arrest of a man who allegedly shot a police officer in Jamaica, Queens earlier this month.

Police Commissioner Ray Kelly says the suspect seen above, John Thomas, is still at large.

Investigators believe he opened fire on Sergeant Craig Bier the night of August 8 during a shootout in Jamaica.

Police say Thomas has 17 prior arrests, goes by the street name "Gutter" and may have been wounded in the shooting.

Anyone with information on Thomas' whereabouts should contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS, or text CRIMES and then enter TIP577, or visit www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.
