A New York City Police Department detective has been suspended without pay as internal affairs tries to figure out if he was involved in a kidnapping scheme in Queens.
Authorities say a 25-year-old man was kidnapped at gunpoint on Friday while walking down 234th Street and that his captors called people looking for a ransom.
Police tracked the man to a home located at 141-37 181st Street in Springfield Gardens where they found him unharmed.
Records show the home belongs to Detective Ondre Johnson, a 17-year veteran of the force who works for the Brooklyn North gang unit.
Johnson has not been charged with any crime.
Hakeem Clark, 30, of Queens and Jason Hutson, 27, of Queens have been arraigned on charges of kidnapping, criminal possession of forgery devices, and unlawful possession of personal identification information.
They are being held without bail.
Two other men could face charges connected to the case.
An investigation is ongoing.
