The East River ferry is marking a milestone.

The ferry has served one million riders in just over year of service, more than double initial projections.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg and City Council Speaker Christine Quinn joined some of those riders on the the way to Wall Street Monday.

The service runs every 20 minutes during rush hour, making seven stops in Queens, Brooklyn and the east side of Manhattan.

The ferry costs $4 each way or $140 for a monthly pass.

The service is being operated as a three-year pilot program with $9 million in city subsidies.
