Police in Westchester County arrested a Consolidated Edison worker Saturday for falsely reporting a gas leak as the utilities workers continue to be locked off the job.

Police in Yonkers said the employee was arrested Saturday for reporting a nonexistent gas leak.

Sources told NY1 that Con Ed customer service representative Lorraine Erikson was trying to sabotage the utility company when she made the false claims.

It is a felony to falsely report a leak.

The arrest came as 5,000 managers are working to keep the power flowing since the company locked out its 8,500 unionized workers last Sunday.

Talks between Con Edison and Local 1-2 resume on Tuesday.

Con Ed supplies power to the city and parts of Westchester County.

The company said it's ready to respond to any emergencies despite the heat wave.

Anyone with power problems or questions should call 1-800-75-CONED or go online to coned.com.
