The father of confessed terror plotter Najibullah Zazi was sentenced Friday to four and a half years behind bars.

Mohammad Wali Zazi, 55, was accused of destroying evidence and lying to cover up his son's plot to attack New York City's subways in 2009.

He was convicted last year of conspiracy and obstruction of justice.

The sentence, handed down in Brooklyn federal court, includes six months based on visa fraud charges.

Zazi's son pleaded guilty to terror charges nearly two years ago.

He faces life in prison.
