The new casino at Aqueduct Racetrack is on a big winning streak.

Resorts World Casino opened October 28 and the New York State Lottery says gamblers bet almost $178 million, with its machines pulling in about $15 million in net profit during the first 10 days.

That's an average of $1.5 million per business day, not including drinks or food.

About a million of the daily revenue goes to Albany to support state education programs and the horse racing industry.

"It's been a really successful opening. Obviously when you first open, there's going to be a bit of a novelty factor, just to be clear. The bottom line, though, is the state Education Department, the horse racing industry are going to really benefit," said Resorts World Casino spokesperson Stefan Friedman.

About $1 million of the daily revenue goes to Albany to support state education programs and the horse racing industry.

A portion of the money goes to the state lottery division to oversee the casino and the casino operator keep less than a third.
