A Queens man will spend between 29 to 37 years in prison for killing a New York City Police Department forensic investigator who was his girlfriend.
Gary McGurk, 24, received the maximum sentence yesterday, after pleading guilty to manslaughter charges in the death of Michelle Lee.
He admitted to hitting Lee over the head and stabbing her at her Queens apartment in April 2009.
McGurk apologized to Lee's family and co-workers, who were in court for sentencing.
