NY1 VIDEO: Family, friends and co-workers are gathering in Queens this weekend to remember a sanitation worker killed on the job last week.

Dozens of relatives, co-workers and members of the community lined up Saturday outside Lloyd Funeral Home in Bayside for a chance to pay their final respects to Frank Justich, and remember the good times with him.

"Our immediate family is 75 plus people when he entered the room, he made a point to hug and kiss everyone, and there was always a crowd around him, throughout the whole party," said Justich's cousin, Joseph Guarino.

"I think it impacted everybody. I think a lot of guys can relate because it could have been anybody at any time. The job has a lot of hidden dangers, like this. it could be anybody at any time," said DOS worker Michael Taylor.

Justich worked for the Sanitation Department for 11 years. He was working on Ditmars Boulevard near 35th Street Tuesday, when he was hit by a tractor trailer and pinned against the truck on which he was working.

He was rushed to the hospital, but died on the way.

Justich's funeral will be held Monday.

His co-workers have set up a fund for his wife and two young daughters. For more information, visit frankjustich.com.
