A federal judge throws out a lawsuit standing in the way of the Willets Point redevelopment project in Queens.
The suit by the Willets Point Industry and Realty Association accused the city of neglecting the scrap yards and car repair shops while it worked to seize the land and develop it as homes, shops and offices.
In throwing out the suit, the judge said it didn't make sense for the city to spend a lot of money fixing up the area before a redevelopment plan was finalized.
