The Floating Hospital's makeover is complete.

Manhattan-Queens Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney unveiled the renovated health care facility Monday, which provides primary medical, dental and mental health services.

The clinic, also known as the "Ship of Health," moved to its new location in Long Island City, Queens from a boat on the East River three years ago.

Maloney said the expansion doubled the hospital's size to 11,000 feet, and that the facility helps the local economy.

"This helped retain nine jobs, created 16 jobs, and they are giving wonderful support to the community, providing medical care to the needy. They have a sliding scale," said Maloney.

"There's a very large, medically-underserved population here - two very large public housing projects called Queensbridge and Ravenswood," said Chief Medical Officer Dave Otto. "So we moved to this area so we could continue to provide health care to our homeless families but then also expand to the Long Island City community."

The expansion was made possible by a $1.3 million federal grant.
