While pumpkin growers across the nation are reporting low numbers, a farm in Queens says the heavy spring rains have had little effect on their crop.
Workers at Queens County Farm say they have been booming and unaffected by the shortage.
"We haven't had so much of a shortage, because we have thousands of families and children coming here to get pumpkins," said Queens County Farm Apprentice Sarah Meyer. "We did have to supplement what we grew from pumpkins from nearby but what we grow are high quality organic pumpkins."
Local growers say customers can pick up pumpkins for their family this holiday season at grocery stores or the Queens County Farm while supplies last.
