Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced for singer Mary Travers, a member of the 1960s group Peter, Paul and Mary.
The band's publicist says Travers died yesterday at a Connecticut hospital after battling leukemia for several years. She was 72 years old.
Travers spent the majority of her childhood in Greenwich Village and became part of the famous trio, which included Peter Yarrow and Noel Paul Stookey, in the early '60s.
The group earned five Grammy Awards.
Travers also released five solo albums.
