The Metropolitan Transportation Authority's new fare hike kicks in at the end of this week.
On Friday, Metro North and Long Island Railroad riders will be the first to see the increase.
And then on Sunday, the fare hike will impact those who rely on subways and buses.
That means the base fare for subways and buses will jump 25 cents, up to $2.50.
The 30-day unlimited ride Metro Card will cost $112 dollars, up from $104.
Most commuter rail tickets will increase between 8.2 and 9.3 percent.
