Bowling Benefit Held In Midtown For Off-Broadway Theater Group

The 23rd All-Star Bowling Classic was recently held at at Lucky Strike on 42nd Street to benefit the Second Stage Theatre Company.
Actress Chloë Sevigny, who won a Golden Globe for her role in the television series "Big Love," didn't bowl as a kid.
George Whipple: Do you bowl?
Sevigny: I bowled about a year ago in Wales. I was making a film and there's not much to do there.
Whipple: You didn't grow up bowling?
Sevigny: I grew up in the suburbs, but I don't think bowling was really high on my list of activities, no.
Whipple: What was on your list of activities?
Sevigny: In Connecticut? I don't know if I should say!
Tony Shalhoub, the star of the television series "Monk," views Second Stage Theatre as an important institution.
"Well I've long been a fan and supporter of Second Stage. I was fortunate enough to do a play here three years ago. Not here at the bowling alley, there at Second Stage on 43rd Street and it was a fantastic experience," said Shalhoub.
John Slattery of "Mad Men" fame is also a fan of Second Stage.
"I've been living in New York for a long time and I did play there. And it's a worthy cause, it's hard to keep theaters alive," said Slattery.
Actress Taylor Schilling took mercy on me and tried to teach me how to bowl, and after all these years, I finally got a bowling trophy.
