Famed composer Andrew Lloyd Webber is battling prostate cancer.
A spokeswoman says the disease is in its early stages and that the composer is undergoing treatment, expecting to be back at work by year's end.
Lloyd Webber is a multiple Tony and Grammy Award winner.
The composer recently announced plans for a sequel to his smash hit "Phantom of the Opera." "Love Never Dies" is scheduled to open in London this coming March, with a Broadway debut in November 2010.
