Eighteen John F. Kennedy International Airport employees were arrested and charged with stealing more $750,000 worth of liquor and other items.
The Queens district attorney says a group of airport truck drivers and security guards stole more than 100,000 mini-bottles of liquor over the last five months.
They also allegedly stole larger liquor bottles, perfume and cigarettes.
"That gives pause for concern that they could have and would have sold out their access and trust for more nefarious and sinister purposes," said Port Authority General Inspector Robert Van Etten.
Charges against the workers include grand larceny and receiving bribes.
If convicted, they could face four to 15 years in prison.
