Phoebe Jacobs, who headed the Louis Armstrong Educational Foundation and helped turn Armstrong's Queens home into a museum, passed away Monday at the age of 93.

While Jacobs didn't sing or play an instrument, she was a fixture on the New York jazz scene, and worked as a publicist for the likes of Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Sarah Vaughn and Ella Fitzgerald.

Armstrong left Jacobs in charge of his legacy.

She had been at Beth Israel Hospital for the past two weeks.
