Police were looking Sunday for the driver of a car involved in a deadly hit-and-run accident the previous day on a Long Island Expressway service road in Maspeth, Queens.

Investigators say a 2002 Chrysler Sebring was going the wrong way near 58th Road Saturday morning, when it crashed head-on into a livery cab.

The cab passenger, George Gibbons, was pronounced dead at Elmhurst Hospital.

The livery driver and a passenger in the Sebring were listed in stable condition.

The driver of the Sebring fled on foot.

Anyone with information on the case should contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS, or text CRIMES and then enter TIP577, or visit ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
