NY1's weekly segment "Your Weekend Starts Now" shows entertaining picks for great things to do this weekend all around the city. NY1's Stephanie Simon filed the following report.

"Sweeney Todd" at Lincoln Center

Thursday night through Saturday night, see The Demon Barber of Fleet Street at Avery Fisher Hall. This production features the New York Philharmonic and renowned baritone Bryn Terfyl as Sweeney Todd, plus Emma Thompson and Christian Borle.

"It's a very dark, scary, very visceral production," Borle says. "So if you're used to bright, bouncy musicals, this is the one for you to see."

Tickets start at $75.

The Armory Show at Piers 92 and 94

It's Art Fair Week in New York City, so there plenty to see, but it can be a little confusing. The Armory Show takes place at Piers 92 and 94 off the West Side Highway. This is a massive assortment of art from around the world. Admission starts at $40. It runs through Sunday.

The Art Show at the Park Avenue Armory

The Art Show, hosted by the Art Dealers Association of America, is at The Park Avenue Armory now through Sunday. This is a curated show with thematic presentations. Admission is $25.

Spring/Break Art Show

The Spring/Break Art Show is at Old School in Nolita. The artwork takes over that building. It's got that edgy downtown vibe. Admission is $5.

Independent Art Fair

The Independent Art fair focuses on experimental installations, making it exciting to venture through. It's at 548 West 22nd Street in Chelsea. Admission is $20 through Sunday.

The (UN)FAIR 2014

And the (UN)FAIR 2014 will include Ben and Jerry of Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream helping to dish out sociopolitical performance art. It's at 500 West 52nd Street at 10th Avenue, and it's free.

Kaki King at the BRIC House Ballroom

The Volta Art Fair is at 82 Mercer Street in Manhattan. This is the art for for solo works by emerging artists.

The Moving Image Art Fair is at Waterfront New York Tunnel at 269 11th Avenue in Manhattan.

Scope Art Fair shows works from around the world. It's at 312 West 33rd Street in Manhattan.
